Aurora
The Aurora Kaarate Men were the GI Joes of Rock'em Sock'em Robots.
You controlled the characters from a base and they could kick,
chop and punch each other. The right arm was in a karate chop position
and the left in a fist. You only could hit with the right leg as
the left leg was attached to the base and the strings ran thtough
it to the rest of the body. The bases were not attached to any
ring so they basically relied on the kids to control the distances.
If you hit the other guy hard enough in the gut he fell over backward
and you won. These figures are the exact same guy, except one comes
with the GI Joe of the 70's style flocked head and beard, and the
other just a handlebar moustache. There were taught strings inside
that reacted to the controls. They usually wind up with broken
strings and missing part of their karate uniforms.
