Hasbro
Hasbro came out with a series of figures in cloth costumes similar
to Mego in about 1998. They came in window boxes and had
a few exclusives to Target department stores and the now
closed Warner Bros. stores. They were marketed as 9 inch
figures. Their poseabiility is very good and the outfits
are nice too. Many collectors have questioned why certain
figures were made over something more popular, but nonetheless
they are nice to collect. A very cool feature of these figures
is in the fingers. They actually can open and close as a
single unit. The single Batman and Superman figures had removable
cowls and the exclusives came with a Bruce Wayne or Clark
Kent change of clothes. The Batman: Masterpiece Edition is
part of a set that comes in a box with a reproduction of
the original Batman comic plus some other extras. This figure
really kicks ass in that he comes with a Batarang and wings
that open and spread out via wires hidden inside.
