Universal Co.

The Universal Co. released 3 eight inch figures in a line called "The 1776 People". They are rather well articulated and were released in the spirit of the Bicentennial of the United States in 1976. They are marked "U.S.A. & U.K./Pat. Pending/Tong Ind. Co./Hong Kong. 1976" on the body which is interesting since it is marketed under Universal Company on the card.
